Join Ian on a fun and scenic 5.25-mile countryside walk to explore the early life of the infamous Samuel Slater - also known as "Slater the Traitor" - and uncover other quirky bits of history along the way.

Starting at the North Mill, you'll wander through beautiful Derbyshire countryside to the site of Slater's family home, 'New Mills' (Milford), and take a well-deserved refreshment break at the historic Holly Bush Inn. After recharging, we'll return to Belper via the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, enjoying riverside views and plenty of interesting stories along the route.

Every participant also gets a souvenir map - a charming reproduction of an original hand drawing by local artist Andrew Spriggs - so you can remember your adventure and impress your friends with your local history knowledge.

It is a part of Belper 250 celebration.

Perfect for history fans, curious explorers, or anyone who enjoys a good walk with a few laughs along the way. Who knew learning about "Slater the Traitor" could be this picturesque?
